I manage all of the projects involving the implementation of business intelligence, as well as those cases involving the generation of new businesses and exploitation of technology, which is all quite closely related with what we studied in the MESI program.

"Prior to this, I was in charge of the Technology Exploitation & Entrepreneurship Department at ASCAMM in Barcelona. This involved trying to transfer technologies the center produces in its R&D projects (European, national or regional) into the market, either by licensing our patents or by creating spin-offs."

"At the European Commission, I worked on the preparation of an ex ante impact assessment for a future strategic framework and an Action Plan for the European Research Area. I also had the possibility to attend many meetings, most of them inside the Commission but also in the Council or in the Parliament. At the ERA Conference, for example, about 500 stakeholders of European research discussed issues of cooperation and research policy in Europe. Two of my GSE professors, Ramon Marimon (UPF and Barcelona GSE) and Gonzalo León (UPM and guest professor in the MESI program), spoke during the conference. "I came into the MESI program with a PhD in biomedicine. Now I am going to continue my research career as a post-doc working with Daniel Bachiller at the Fundació Caubet-Cimera located in Mallorca (Balearic Islands). Cimera is a research centre of excellence in respiratory diseases. I am going to be working on an amazing project that aims to find a cure for the genetic disease cystic fibrosis. We are trying to develop a protocol with stem cells in order to restore patient lung function. I hope to eventually collaborate on the transfer the results of this research to clinical and market applications."
